Boise State Games and Classes Now Mask Mandated Including Bronco Nation
Are you shocked? This has been coming and we've all been discussing how Summer ends in Idaho.
Public Universities will now make it mandatory for students to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. This also includes Bronco Nation heading to games this season.
Mask Up Idaho: New College Requirement
The Delta Variant of COVID-19 is taking a stronghold across the country as cases being to skyrocket. States being hit hardest are the ones with the least population vaccinated. Idaho falls into that top 5 list and we shouldn't be surprised to see mask mandates begin.
Boise State University just posted to their Facebook on Wednesday regarding the new mask requirements that also including home games.
"Effective on Thursday, Aug 12, 2021, facial coverings must be worn in indoor public spaces owned or controlled by Boise State University as well as in crowded outdoor spaces, regardless of vaccination status.
The Delta variant is highly contagious - CDC projects that it may cause more than twice as many infections as earlier variants. Because it is so transmissible, we are seeing an increase in breakthrough infections.
Since the Delta variant poses a significant risk to the health and safety of campuses and communities across the state after consultation with the Idaho State Board of Education and our sister institutions, all state 4-year public research universities are reinstating campus facial covering requirements."
Idaho Universities Join Treefort Music Fest and St. Luke's with Restrictions
This is big news as St. Luke's announced pausing some inpatient surgeries due to the variant of COVID and we just saw Treefort Music Festival make a big announcement requirement vaccinations.
This might just be the beginning of what is to come. I'm sure that announcement will be coming soon. Full Boise State University announcement is below.
