Meridian Pug to Receive Hero Award

Jaxson the pug is officially of hero.

An 11-year pug is being hailed as a hero after he alerted his humans to a fire in their home on August 29.

Jaxson the pug, started barking after he noticed sparks coming from an electrical outlet in the home of his humans, Mikaela Sebree and Todd Lavoie. The owners woke up and were able to stop the fire from spreading.

For his bravery and heroics, Jaxson will be the first animal to be honored with Meridian's Hometown Hero Award.

Mayor Tammy de Weerd will present the award during a ceremony at the Meridian City Council Chambers tomorrow (10/4) at 6p.
