Micron Donates $25 Million to New BSU Research Center

Boise State has received its biggest gift in the school's history! According to KTVB, Micron has pledged $25 million towards a new $50 million materials research building on the BSU campus. School officials and Micron executives were on-hand for the groundbreaking ceremony for that building yesterday. The funding from the Micron Foundation marks the largest gift in school's history.

The research center will "provide space needed to continue growing expertise in manufacturing technology and cancer research, among many other fields." The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2020 and is being constructed "just west of the Engineering building on University Drive." The department of engineering will oversee and operate the center.
