Mother, Infant Found Dead in Hammett
The Owyhee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible murder-suicide after a 31-year old mother and her 16-month old daughter were found dead in a car. Desiree Vistercil and her daughter were found in a 2005 Ford Focus on Tuesday after the sheriff's office reports received word of a suspicious vehicle.
The coroner determined that Vistercil's death was due to a single gun shot to her head while daughter is reported to have drowned after she was found face down in a bucket containing roughly 3 gallons of water. Investigators at this point believe this is a case of a homicide and a suicide.
While the investigation is currently ongoing the sheriff's department is offering their deepest condolences to the families involved in this case.
