NNU Getting New Student Building

Northwest Nazerene University will soon be a new space for the 2,000 students on their Nampa campus. According to KTVB, the school will break ground on the new 48,000 square foot building that cost about $16.5 million on March 9. The Student Commons Building will be "the hangout space" for the students, and will include "dining facilities, student services, the office of university mission and ministry and a welcome center."

The building is expected to take anywhere from 14 to 18 months to build and the money that will cover the expenses was donated "as part of a major fundraising campaign." NNU President Joel Pearsall says that the building "brings together the social aspects with the academic aspects and provides space for the students, not only to interact socially, but in the midst of doing that, to also explore how that impacts them spiritually and academically."
