Orange Air Quality Alert in Treasure Valley
Pretty hazy on your way in this morning? Here's why.
According to KTVB, the Department of Environmental Qualtiy has issued an 'Orange Air Quality Alert' due to smoke from surrounding wildfires. Air Quality levels under an Orange Air Quality Alert are "considered unhealthy for sensitive groups [(kids, elderly, etc.)], and all residents are advised to limit their exerting themselves outdoors."
They've also issued a Stage 1 Forecast and Caution for Ada, Canyon and Elmore County, prohibiting all open burning.
Here are some things you can do to help reduce pollution in the area:
- Don't use fireplaces and woodstoves
- limit driving
- combine trips or errands when possible
