Oregon Bans Vaping

It has not been a good few months for the Vaping Industry.  Several deaths attributed to the practice of Vaping has spurred action from both federal and state lawmakers to limit or ban Vaping. Now one state in the Pacific Northwest has joined the banning Vaping movement. Oregon Governor Bans Vaping Oregon has become the latest state to board the anti-vaping bandwagon. Forgoing traditional channels, Governor Kate Brown on Friday issued an executive order that temporarily bans the sale of all flavored vaping products in the state, including those that contain THC and nicotine.

"My first priority is to safeguard the health of all Oregonians," Brown said in a statement. "By keeping potentially unsafe products off of store shelves and out of the hands of Oregon's children and youth, we prevent exposing more people to potentially dangerous chemical compounds." Brown says she hopes to have a permanent law in place by the time the 180-day ban -- which is the maximum time allowed for an executive order -- expires. "Until we know more ... please, do not vape," Brown says. "Encourage your friends and family members to stop vaping immediately."

It will be interesting to see how the pubic in Oregon reacts to Brown's proclamation.  She has been under fire for her approach to the carbon tax/anti-logging agenda that caused several Oregon Senate Republicans to flee the state.
