Peak Tick Season in Idaho

It's peak tick season, here are some tips to keep you and your pet safe!

Ew, ticks! Nobody wants those pesky things near us right? Well, right now Idaho is in peak tick season so you need to be aware.

• Walk on trails - If you're taking your dog out, keep them on the trails and out of the brush/grass.
• Keep away from wet areas - wet area + vegetation = lots of ticks and mosquito, ew!
• Bug spray - use repellent before walks, and check you and your pet after walks.
• Dry clothes in high heat - the high heat from the dryer will kill the ticks at larval-stage
• Find one? - Pull it out, don't burn it out. Burning its bottom could cause you to get sick and create an infection.
