Police are cracking down on distracted driving in April, so it's time to put down the cell phone, make-up, and that burger you're eating!

Pretty much all of us have been there. You get a text on your phone and just have to look down for a minute, or you're starving and late so you have to eat while you drive. Ladies are notorious for applying the lip gloss and mascara while at a red light, but all of these things could get you in big trouble! April is "Distracted Driving Awareness Month" and the Boise Police are going to be on the lookout for people driving distracted.

According to KTVB and transportation officials, there were 4,781 distracted driving accidents in 2014. 39 people died in those crashes, which really drives it home that doing these things while driving is just not worth it.

The Boise Police say that the goal with their "Just Drive Aware" campaign is to remind people of the law and to decrease crashes caused by distracted driving. The campaign runs through April 11th and if you're caught driving distracted, it won't go on your record, but it will cost you $81.50. Let's ban together and all start paying more attention on the roads!! For more information on this campaign click HERE.
