[POLL] Carpool Lanes in Treasure Valley?

The Idea has been shut down several times.

I've lived in areas where traffic is just an absolute nightmare (try getting anywhere on I-880 in the Bay Area in under 3 hours, I dare you). So when I moved to Nampa a couple of months ago, I didn't think traffic would annoy me too much. I was wrong.

I've tried leaving the house earlier (and later) and still I find myself inching along I-84 toward Boise. So it got me thinking at least in those other major cities you have the saving grace of 'Carpool Lanes'.

HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lanes OR 'Carpool Lanes', allow ONLY vehicles with multiple occupants to use a specific lane on the freeway during morning and afternoon rush hours.

It's an amazing feeling driving in the carpool lane during rush hour. Not only do you get to drive by everyone (at the normal speed limit), but it encourages-obviously-carpooling, which is a great way to save money on gas and keeps more cars off the road!

Currently-according to yourmechanic.com- there are some carpool lanes scattered throughout the state, but, "the legislature in the state has banned car pool lanes from existing in counties with 25,000 or more residents." There have been attempts to reverse this decision, but proposals have been denied (one as recently as 2014).

So, what do you think? Should the Treasure Valley Freeways get these carpool lanes? Would you be more willing to carpool if there were some?
