Skype In The Delivery Room??

My best friend is having a baby today!!! Bad news: I can't be there. Would it be weird if I request a skype session during the delivery?

Me and my best friends are like sisters, so naturally, when one of us has a special moment we all want to be a part of it. Unfortunately, I can't always make it to special events so we have skype / face-time sessions all the time. I managed to experience a gender reveal and a baby shower, but I would really love to see the baby when he's born!

Do you think it'd be weird to have a skype sesh in the delivery room?
