The town sits near the Clark Fork River on the eastern part of Lake Pend Oreille, named in honor of William Clark, who headed the expedition through the western American wilderness in 1804.
The Squeeze Inn is a family-owned restaurant located in Clark Fork and has been a part of the community for more than 25 years. The Squeeze Inn "offers a unique dining experience full of culture, color, and delicious food." Janet, the owner, is often called mom, and her daughter Taneesha has her artwork scattered throughout the restaurant. The menu at the Squeeze Inn consists of everything homemade, from ravioli to their Italian-inspired tacos and lamb shanks.
Start your meal with mussels, clams, or their famous stuffed mushrooms. They are open five days a week for lunch from 11:30 to 1:30 and again for dinner from 4 pm to 8 pm. They recently added Basque food to their menu. The meals are served in the traditional Basque family style with the soup of the day, bread, Basque beans, salad, side dish, main entree, ice cream, and a glass of house wine.
