'Star Wars' Day Events in Boise

Move over, Justin Timberlake memes! It's time for 'May the fourth be with you' memes to celebrate the official 'Star Wars Day.' What started off as a funny pun reference the iconic Star War's phrase: "may the force be with you," May fourth has become more than just a day for fans to share viral internet memes. Now it's a day that businesses are taking advantage of to do some really fun stuff.

Here in the Treasure Valley, there are a couple of cool events to check out if you're a fan of the franchise.

According to Boise Weekly, Ironwood Bar & Grill is hosting the "Boise Beardsmen Beard Bazaar Episode III: May the Fourth Be With You" event this Saturday (May 4, of course). The "friendly facial-hair competition" is for a great cause too! A raffle during the event will benefit the Boise Bicycle Project.

The other event you'll want to check out will take place at the Fly Boise Aerial Arts Center where performers will put on a Star Wars theme production. Along with an awesome performance, you'll have a chance to get some grub from a food truck, grab a cold one from their beer garden, get some great items in their silent auction, and even try out a flying trapeze for yourself!
