Taco Bell Arena has become the very first college arena in the United States to be certified as 'Sensory Inclusive'. According to a press release from Taco Bell Arena, they teamed up with a non-profit organization called, KultureCity, that is dedicated to helping concert venues, arenas, zoos, and other public facilities "promote an accommodating and positive experience for all guests and fans with a sensory need".

What does a Sensory Inclusion Certification mean? It means that Taco Bell Arena staff has been "trained by leading medical professionals on how to assist guests with sensory needs and how to handle a sensory overload situation." Individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD and other similar conditions are those who often feel a sensitivity to "over stimulation by noise, sound or crowded environments."

If a guest at Taco Bell Arena is feeling a sensory overload, they will be given a 'Sensory Bag' that includes:

  •  noise canceling headphones
  • fidget tools
  • verbal cue cards
  • weighted lap pads.

I think this is just so amazing! With all the shows and events that take place at the Taco Bell arena, knowing that now individuals with sensory needs can have a comfortable and accommodating experience makes my heart happy.
