The Treasure Valley never ceases to amaze me. I've lived here for almost six years and I keep discovering fun restaurants, shops, and fun events that blow my mind. Yesterday, I got to check out the Red Chair Lavender Festival after looking forward to it for months! The lavender farm in Eagle hosted this festival for the first time, but it won't be the last.

The great thing about this festival is that part of the proceeds from the entry fee are going to two amazing organizations: The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Idaho and Dreamhaven. The festival also boasted several different vendors who offered great items like crafts, food, drinks, and jewelry. Red Chair Lavender also had their own products on hand, made from the lavender grown right in their backyard.

Lavender always reminds me of my mom, so when I heard about the event on Facebook, I knew I had to make the trip. My best friend and I enjoyed a yummy cocktail infused with Lavender (I tried the Lavender Mimosa, she had the Gold Rush both made with lavender simple syrup), they were delicious!! We then chose a few of Red Chair's products. Lavender Goat Milk soap and some dried lavender for a sachet were my choices to send to my momma in Texas, and I bought some lavender 'calm balm' for those stressful days.

Then, came the most fun part of the day. We got to go into the lavender fields (the smell is out of this world), and harvest our own lavender bundles. We each got two and got quite a bit of lavender that will be dried out and placed everywhere that needs a little yummy scent.

If you missed it this year, definitely make sure you take a trip to Red Chair Lavender next year. It is definitely a Treasure Valley Must.
