Memorial Day is this Monday, and yes, it's absolutely more than just a day off and BBQ parties with your friends. It's a day that we remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Here in the Treasure Valley, there are several ways to honor our fallen heroes. Here are some ceremonies that will take place throughout the weekend (via BoiseWeekly).

Idaho State Veterans Cemetery10100 Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise.

Boise's Veteran's Cemetery will include a wreath presentation, several guest speakers, and even an aircraft flyover. The event begins at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27.

Kohlerlawn Cemetery - 76 Sixth St. N., Nampa

This ceremony at Nampa's cemetery will also begin at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day.

Warhawk Museum201 Municipal Drive

Admission to the Warhawk Museum is only $5 all weekend. They will be offering two great events to honor our fallen heroes:

  • "MURPH" At the Warhawk Air Museum - Join veterans and community members for a "MURPH" workout at the museum in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy who was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan in 2005. The event runs from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 25. The fee to participate is $5, and includes all-day access to the museum. The event will also feature music food and vendors on site.
  • Memorial Day Flyover - From 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. on Memorial Day (5/27), the Warhawk Air Museum will host a special flyover to pay tribute to the fallen. Admission to the museum will be $5.
