Well Deserved Martina….
Martina McBride to receive Humanitarian Award for her efforts on domestic violence prevention this Spring.
According to Country Weekly, the award recognizes Martina’s philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence prevention. Over the years, Martina has hosted the Middle Tennessee YWCA Celebrity Auction to raise money for programs that help domestic violence victims. She has also served as the spokesperson for the National Domestic Violence Hotline, the National Network to End Domestic Violence and other organizations. Her past hits “Independence Day” and “A Broken Wing” have addressed the issue of domestic abuse in powerful, emotional terms.
Martina went on to say, “I believe that anyone blessed enough to achieve success has a responsibility to help those in need. While my goal was never to be recognized for my charitable efforts, this award is proof that we can all make a difference, no matter how small, in the lives of others.“
Congrats to Martina on this award! You can also expect to hear some new music from Martina in 2015.
