Where is Roseberry?
Ever been to Roseberry, Idaho? This weekend could be a good time to go and have some ice cream!
You may have seen the signs along Highway 55 on your way to McCall. The Roseberry Historic District is a collection of buildings and relics right out of the Idaho history books.
Aside from the paved roads and parking lots, you may think you've been transported back in time. The old general store, the church, barns and out buildings look like they were all built to be part of movie set for a new Clint Eastwood western.
There are residents there as well, and they are proud of Roseberry. It shows in the way the existing buildings are maintained.
This Saturday, September 2nd, there's an old-fashioned ice cream social taking place from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. You'll be able to see several old cars, music, a silent auction, kids activities, wagon rides, petting zoo, old-fashioned equipment and crafts demonstrations, a quilt show, a sausage lunch, and FREE ice cream. The museum buildings are open for touring. The event is a fundraiser for the Valley County Museum at Roseberry.
It's worth a drive, and a great day trip to visit a piece of Idaho history right up the road from Boise!
Roseberry is located about 1 mile east of Donnelly, Idaho on East Roseberry Road at the intersection with Farm to Market Road.
