My heart is broken for the family of a 7-year-old Boise boy who has passed away after being hit by a pickup truck while riding his bike.

Eduard Propkopchuk of Nampa was hit on Thursday evening at about 7:30 p.m. along West Amity Road when the accident happened. He was riding with two other children who were not injured in the crash.

The man behind the wheel of the pickup was just 18-years-old. The impact threw the little boy off his bike and into a fence. The teenage driver says he swerved to miss something in the road when he accidentally crashed into the 7-year-old. He stopped immediately and rushed out of his truck to the little boy he had hit.

According to an article on KTVB that details the crash, the driver has completely cooperated with investigators and drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factored in the fatal crash. He has not been charged with any crime at this point in the investigation.

Little Eduard was rushed to St. Luke's Medical Center in Boise with life-threatening blunt force trauma injuries. He succumbed to those injuries late Friday night.

Please keep everyone who loved Eduardo and the young man who accidentally hit in your thoughts and prayers. There is nothing worse than a tragic accident like this that takes the life of a precious child.
