I can't even fathom the devastation of your home, all of your memories going up in flames. It happened to one Boise family this morning and their precious dog is missing.

The blaze broke out around 3:45 a.m. near Cynthia Mann Elementary. The home sits on Castle Hill Drive.

According to KTVB, thick smoke could be seen for miles. The family is currently on vacation, so although they were not home when the fire severely damaged their home and belongings it must have been a horrible phone call to receive that not just your house but the place you called home was on fire.

Two dogs were inside the home when the fire broke out. One was rescued, the other is still missing, just adding to the heartache.

You would think this mornings rain would have helped with the blaze, but firefighters say although the cooler temperatures were helpful, the rain did little to help extinguish the fire because the blaze was so big.

So far it's unclear what started the fire. We'll keep you updated if and when that knowledge is made public and we'll keep you posted if they are to find the family's dog.

Consider your blessings as you go about your day today and keep a little prayer in your heart for this Boise family who has lost so much this morning.
