WHOA! Did anyone see this coming?!

When the polls came out this week, I gave you a little background on why Boise State fans were so fixated on the UCF vs Pittsburgh game last Saturday. Prior to the match-up UCF, the only other Group of 5 team ranked ahead of Boise State, had won 27 regular season games in a row. If the Broncos can win out, this paves the way for them to secure the "Group of 5's" invitation to a New Year's Six Bowl Game.

A streak like that often got them compared to the 2008-2010 Broncos who went on a 35 regular season win streak before losing to Nevada and dashing their hopes at getting an invite to the BCS National Championship Game.

As outsiders looking in on "Power 5" teams who have a much easier route to the College Football Playoff and New Year's Six bowls, both teams have fought hard to gain the respect they deserve and contend for the "Group of 5's" berth into one of those major bowl games.

That's what makes this announcement so interesting! According to Broncosports.com, the Broncos will face the UCF Knights in Orlando in September 2021 and host them on The Blue in 2023.

That bumps their non-conference match-ups with Houston and Rice to 2025 and 2029 allowing this incredible series to take sooner rather than later.

We LOVE this match-up and can't wait to see these two talented "Group of 5" teams go head to head for bragging rights and a short at making some real noise in the college football world!
