Boise State offensive lineman Ezra Cleveland was hoping to hear his name called on day one of the 2020 NFL Draft.  The people who make their living trying to predict which teams will draft which prospect thought he would have gone in the first round to the Minnesota Vikings, the San Francisco 49ers or the Green Bay Packers.  When the Packers shocked the football world by taking a quarterback, it became clear that the Bronco was going to have to wait, ending his chance to be only the sixth Boise State player ever taken in the first round.  The last was Leighton Vander Esch, who went to the Dallas Cowboys in 2018.

Now it seems that he could go early in round two, possibly to the Buffalo Bills.  No matter where he goes, he will extend the Broncos streak of having at least one player drafted every season for ten years and he likely not be the only Boise State player to be drafted in day two of this year’s draft.  Curtis Weaver, a defensive end who is second in career sacks at BSU is likely to go in the 3rd round, which is held later today.

Two other Broncos are expected to go sometime in rounds four through seven, which will be held on Saturday.  Those players are wide receiver John Hightower, above, and offensive lineman John Molchon, making this year’s crop the most entries into the draft since that special team that finished the season in the Top 10, led by Kellen Moore, sending six Broncos into the 2012 NFL Draft, including Shea McClellin and Doug Martin, who were drafted in the first round.
