Caldwell police shared a post on social media warning of a scam involving phone calls to unsuspecting victims.
Caldwell, we are getting calls about SCAMS again!! Community members are reporting scam calls from people claiming to be from the Caldwell Police Department.
It's not just a terrible thing to do to people but it's also highly illegal.

If you're caught impersonating an officer, Idaho law says you'll be facing serious consequences. If you're caught, you'll be "punished by imprisonment in the state prison for not less than two (2) years and not more than five (5) years."
