There are thousands of historical markers through the Potato State and I just stumbled across a cool website that gives details on all of them.

Historyidaho.gov is a place I find myself checking out when things get a little boring at work.  I'm still somewhat new to Idaho so I find a lot of this fascinating.  Living in Boise it's fun to learn about Table Rock, the Old Penitentiary, Freak Alley, etc, etc.  That's cool but it's also cool to step outside our little bubble here in the Treasure Valley and learn about The Cataldo Mission, Bear River Battleground, Lolo Trail, or Shoshone Falls.

Any of you that have lived here for a few years could probably name hundreds of historical markers but I'll bet there's hundreds you don't know about.  One of my favorite things to do is look up cemeteries and get the back story and details on those.  Very interesting!
