Today we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading to the kids at Monroe Elementary!

I think it is so awesome that we still celebrate Dr. Seuss!! The infamous writer was born on March 2, 1904 and if he was still alive he'd be 112 years old! Unfortunately, Dr. Seuss passed away back in 1991 at the age of 87, but his legacy lives on.

We had the opportunity to read to the kids at Monroe Elementary in Boise today as part of the Dr. Seuss Read Across America Day which is held every year on his birthday. The kids enjoyed "The Sneetches" by Dr. Seuss along with other tales that teach lessons of tolerance, compassion, and facing our fears. I love how Dr. Seuss could do this in such a fun creative way and like Rick told the kids, "he broke all the rules!"

Here's some fun facts about Dr. Seuss!
