WATCH OUT! Idaho Restaurants Are Charging Extra For Eggs!
The price of eggs has been the talk of the country. Since our chickens have been battling a deadly flu, prices have skyrocketed and limits have been placed on how many eggs we can buy.
Now, the rising cost is affecting our restaurants.
Egg Surcharges Arrive In Idaho
It was recently reported that Denny's would be implementing a temporary surcharge on meals that come with or include eggs. It appears that the pricing will vary from market to market depending on the regional impact of the egg crisis.
As of now, we only have a handful of Denny's left in Idaho. Still, many are wondering if other restaurants or even fast-food chains will follow suit and implement a charge.
One major fast-food giant spoke up, however, and promised they wouldn't join the trend - the Golden freakin' Arches, McDonald's.

"Unlike others making news recently, you definitely WON'T see McDonald's USA issuing surcharges on eggs, which are 100% cage-free and sourced in the U.S.," Michael Gonda, Chief Impact Officer for McDonald's said in a post to LinkedIn.
It's nice to see America's favorite fast-food chain make a promise to protect our Egg McMuffins, but will there be other businesses forced to implement a surcharge? What about small businesses that don't have the financial backing a major chain like McDonald's has?
It'll be interesting to see what happens with egg prices but at the very least - we'll always have McDonald's, right?
