Major Recall Has Idaho Stores Pulling Eggs From The Shelves

It's been a rough year for eggs, hasn't it? We saw eggs reach ridiculous prices in our stores, and now we're facing another crisis with our eggs in the form of a major recall.

A HUGE Batch Of Liquid Egg Products Have Been Ruined

Someone at Cargill Kitchen Solutions has some explaining to do, as it's been reported that there is a major recall on 212,268 pounds of egg beaters.

Now, you might think it would be due to bacterial contamination or something along those lines, right? These are liquid eggs we're talking about.

Rather, the recall is because the liquid eggs "may contain a cleaning solution with sodium hypochlorite," according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

According to FSIS, the products were made on March 12th and 13th and were quite possibly distributed nationwide, which could be a real problem.

"FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ or foodservice refrigerators or freezers," the FSIS said. "Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them, and food service locations are urged not to serve them."

Which Liquid Eggs Are Being Recalled?

According to the FSIS, the following egg beaters were recalled for being contaminated with a cleaning solution:

"32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing 'egg beaters ORIGINAL LIQUID EGG SUBSTITUTE' and USE BY AUG 10 2025."

"32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing 'egg beaters CAGE-FREE ORIGINAL LIQUID EGG SUBSTITUTE” and USE BY AUG 09 2025.'"

"32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing 'egg beaters CAGE-FREE ORIGINAL FROZEN EGG SUBSTITUTE' and 'egg beaters NO ENJAULADAS ORIGINAL SUSTITUTO DE HUEVO CONGELADO' and USE BY MAR 07 2026."

"32-oz. (2-lb.) carton containing 'Bob Evans Better’n Eggs Made with Real Egg Whites' and USE BY AUG 10 2025."

If you have any of these in your fridge, toss them out ASAP!
