Grenade Discovered In Idaho Home

A Bomb Squad from Boise was called in this morning when a grenade was found inside an Idaho City home.

The grenade was found in the historic Strauss House which was built in the 1860's.  An inmate from the Idaho Department of Corrections was the one who found the deadly device.

Boise Police quickly shut down Montgomery Street and requested help from the Boise Bomb Squad.  The grenade was very real, but the explosive components had been removed so there was no danger.

Authorities have no idea how the grenade ended up in the Strauss House.
