A bad motorcycle accident that took place around 4 a.m. this morning shut down the Broadway offramp to I-84 for more than two hours.  KTVB reports that 52-year-old Gary Rupert of Meridian was attempting the curve and didn't quite make it causing his bike to hit the ground hard and unfortunately, placing him into critical condition.

Rupert was not wearing a helmet and was immediately transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center where we do not know exactly how he's doing as of now.  We do know that the injuries are serious and he is currently fighting for his life.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck and the Idaho State Police had things cleared out just before rush hour traffic started up.  Police are urging everyone to remember that we're still in that "100 deadliest days of driving" time of the year and to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of others and for yourself.  This accident is currently being investigated.
