We all get a little stressed out in this crazy rat race. Here's some little ways I've discovered to relieve stress.

First off, I must admit, I am such a "winter blues" person. I need warmth and sunshine in my life, so I am thrilled that it is finally Spring!

I was riding my bike along the Greenbelt on Saturday and I was amazed how much it improved my mood. If you struggle with depression, my first piece of advice would be to get outside and get moving. It's hard when all you want to do is lay in bed and cry, but I promise you you will feel better and your stress will melt away. Luckily we've got lots of great trails, hikes, and bike paths.

My next go to stress reliever is yoga and meditation. I did yoga for years before I had my 14 disc spinal fusion and it brought so much peace into my life. We have some incredible yoga studios right here in the Treasure Valley. You can check them out HERE.

My latest discovery is "adult coloring books!" It sounds silly, but it does wonders when your brain just won't shut off. I pull out my little coloring book (pictured above) all the time and it quiets my brain. You can find them in pretty much any book store or even grocery store these days.

Another stress reliever that we have great access to here in Idaho is our beautiful Idaho Hot Springs. We used to own a hot tub and it is amazing how a little warm water melts away stress. I can't wait to discover the hot springs of Idaho this summer.

My last piece of advice for debunking stress is to be around animals. Even if you don't have a pet, take a walk and watch the adorable little squirrels we have running around or take a trip to the Zoo Boise. There's just a sense of peace and tranquility that only animals can bring.
