A huge sigh of relief after 16-year-old Bertonia "Toni" McFadden of Mountain Home was found safe in Boise this afternoon.

An Amber Alert was issued around noon after Toni was picked up by a man she met online named Erick J. Miramontes Anaya, who is 24-years-old. No word yet on if any charges will be filed against the young man.

According to an article on idahonews.com, Idaho State Police are saying that Erick picked Toni up at her home around 2:20 in the morning and drove away with her.

Please be very careful with your communication and dating online. As you may have heard, earlier this week a 23-year-old student from the University of Utah, MacKenzie Lueck, was murdered after meeting up with someone online.

Don't ever think it can't happen to you. It may seem the norm to date online, but at a minimum, you should never tell someone where you live right off the bat. Meet them in a public place and always have your guard up.

The situation with Erick and Toni today goes even further since she is underage and he's an adult.

A former friend of mine is now sitting in jail because he met up with someone online who was underage, but who he claims had told him they were an adult.

Again, please use serious caution as you communicate online. We're glad this young lady is back home and safe.
