Loud Kid in the Movie Theater? You Probably Shouldn’t Dump Popcorn on Them
There's nothing more annoying that a loud little kid in a movie theater. Before you dump your large popcorn over their head, there's something you should know.
It's tempting, isn't it? We can all act like we're great people, but it's crossed your mind. You're in the middle of a movie with your boyfriend, it's getting to the good part, and some obnoxious two year old behind you is kicking and talking and screaming and will not shut up. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could just turn around and douse them with a bunch of greasy, buttery popcorn? In a perfect world, yes. Thing is, we don't live in a perfect world.
This exact scenario played out at a movie theater in New York. Thing is, a 25-year-old women and her father actually followed through with it. They went to see an animated movie, and as soon as it began, a 2-year-old behind them asked her mom for some popcorn. The 25-year-old, Keri Karman, turned around and snapped at the child, and then proceeded to dump a bucket of popcorn on the toddler's head. Karman and her father have since been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and are due back in court on March 12th.
Maybe next time a kid is being loud during a movie, a simple shhhh will do?
