Here we are a few days in to summer and it's very clear to see that summer is coming in hot... literally! Summer promises to get warmer and Treasure Valley residents are going to continue to look for ways to beat the heat. While some reach for a cold beer, others reach for higher ground. Highway 55 is jam packed all summer long as people crave those 15-20 degree cooler temps that McCall is known for. What if you could do both? Beer and Cooler Temps in McCall? They say timing is everything and the timing for this is perfect. Just as we start to hit the 100 degree mark in the valley The McCall Payette Lakes Rotary club announced the creation of Mountain Brew Fest.

“We are excited to showcase these awesome Northwest craft breweries in a fun event overlooking Payette Lake at the Ludwig Terrace," said Michael Eck, Project Leader. "Plus, it is a Rotary fundraiser, so money from this event will help fund programs that benefit adults and children in McCall and Valley County.”

This is no small potatoes either, this is a big event with a lot of breweries participating including:

2 Towns Cider, Alaskan Brewing, Boise Brewing, Broken Horn Brewing, Deschutes, Dogfish Head, Fremont Brewing, Georgetown Brewing, Jeremiah Johnson, Mad Swede, McCall Brewing, Mother Earth, New Belgium, New Holland/Pabst, Payette Brewing, Salmon River Brewing, Sam Adams, Sawtooth, Sierra Nevada, Sockeye and White Claw.

Not that we need an excuse to go to McCall but now we have another one. The Brew Fest is happening from 1-6 p.m. on Aug. 21 in downtown McCall. Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door beer and cider tastings plus an event glass are included.
