Meet the 5 Idaho Athletes Heading to Winter Olympics

The best athletes in the world will be heading to South Korea for the Winter Olympics next month, and now we have 5 Idahoans to root for on their journey toward gold that begins February 9. 

Chase Josey (Hailey): Chase will join the U.S. Men's half-pipe team led by two-time Olympic champ Shaun White. The 22-year-old won his first Toyota U.S. Grand Prix event last weekend, and won a bronze medal at the 2016 Winter X Games. Plus, Chase ranks 12th in the FIS World Cup standings. He was chosen by the U.S. coaches yesterday.

Jessika Jensen (Idaho Falls): Jessika will be competing in two events at the Olympics, women’s slopestyle and big air. The 26-year-old will be heading to the Olympics for the second time, finishing 13th in women’s slopestyle at the 2014 Games in Russia.

Nick Cunningham (Former BSU Athlete): The 32-year-old former BSU Track star joins the U.S. Bobsled team for the third time. In the 2010 and 2014 Olympics, "Cunningham finished 12th and 13th in both the two-man and four-man. He is a sergeant in the New York National Guard."

Sam Michener (Former Idaho Athlete): Another track standout is heading to the Olympics also joining the bobsled team.

Hilary Knight  (Sun Valley): We'll see Hilary Knight on the ice as she takes on the best teams in the world in women’s hockey.
