Pink has brilliantly shut down Internet trolls who criticized her weight after photos emerged of her at a recent cancer benefit in Beverly Hills. “I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off,“ the 35-year-old singer wrote on Twitter. “While I admit that that dress didn’t photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful.“ Pink also shared that her husband Carey Hart says of her weight gain, “It’s just more to love baby.“

Now you probably can guess where I stand on all of this but seriously, internet, can we just stop with the body shaming stuff?  I think we all contribute to it and I'm so happy to see women like Pink and Kelly Clarkson standing up for themselves, but this is a more systemic problem.

I am by no means a small girl but I am someone who watches my diet, goes to CrossFit daily, and would put my strength up against most....my point is that just the other day I heard someone in the hall literally freaking out over gaining .4 lbs.  .4 - this girl has a tremendous body, but what it tells me is that something has gone terribly wrong in our culture for her to freak out about a .4 lb weight gain and for me to have doubt about the way I look.  It's just silly. The women like Pink who stand up to the haters are slowly changing the culture, it's just up to the rest of us to get on board.
