Rick and Carly’s Movie Review
Rick and I both love to go to the movies. Here's our review on what's hot at the box office right now.
The Martian $11.4 million Rick saw this one on his own. He loved it. I've heard the book is great, but I was afraid for some reason that it would be boring (I was not a fan of the Sandra Bullock/George Clooney "Gravity" film, but I've heard this is nothing like that. It's still going strong, so I'd say it's worth seeing!
Goosebumps $10.2 million Rick took his son Brode to see this. Rick said it was ok, but his son loved it! We agreed it's a great one for the older kids, but not so impressive for the adults and too scary for kids under 9.
Bridge of Spies $8.1 million Rick and I saw this together. I was very excited about this film. I figure you can't go wrong with a Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg war movie, but I found it to be pretty slow. Rick loved it though. Perhaps my expectations were too high. It's a long one, 140 min, but I will say the ending left me feeling like "that was pretty good."
Hotel Transylvania 2 $5.8 million I took my kids to see this, and I must admit, I liked the first one much better. My kids adored it though and keep asking me when it's going to be out on DVD, so it's a win for the kids.
Burnt $5 million This is the new Bradley Cooper movie, and I can't wait to see it! I'm a foodie, so the fact that it is about a restaurateur makes it a must see for me. Add Bradley Cooper into the mix, and I would say I'll be easy to please...I'll keep you posted!
Two other movies Rick and I have seen lately is Everest and Black Mass. Both are at the cheaper theaters now, but I would recommend them. They are true stories and just seeing Johnny Depp's transformation in Black Mass is worth the ticket.
Have fun at the movies folks!
