Life changed in an instant. One man is dead this morning after a shooting near the campus of Boise State University.

The shooting happened at about 2:45 a.m. on the 900 block of Belmont Street.

Police are investigating the shooting, but have said they do not feel like there is a threat to the public.

According to an article on KTVB that details the crime, the police are not looking for any "outstanding subjects."

As the investigation continues, several homes have been blocked off by police tape, but it is not impeding traffic on Belmont Street this morning.

Both the names of the man who died and the suspect have not been released yet.

Please keep everyone affected by this crime in your thoughts and prayers this morning because people lost someone they love and another person made a choice that they can never take back.
