I'll be honest, I was late to the eclipse party.  I run a small business on the side and it wasn't until I was making some "glow-in-the dark" eclipse t-shirts on Thursday night that I decided I wanted a pair of glasses to check it out.

Lucky for me, my fiance happened to be at the right place at the same time this afternoon and found a friend of ours selling them on a street corner. (Legitimately, our friend got a vendor permit from the City of Boise and was legally allowed to sell them.) Unfortunately, he was only selling them until 3 p.m. on Friday and is heading back to his booth at the Weiser Eclipse Festival where there will be plenty of glasses to go around.

But what if you don't want to fight "path of totality" traffic to get yours because you're content with 99.6% totality in Boise?  Here's a few places where they'll be available before the Great American Eclipse on Monday!

Capital City Public Market | Downtown Boise

Wake up early to shop market this weekend! The first 1,000 people who stop by the Boise Convention and Visitors Bureau booth will receive a pair.  The market opens at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Boise State Eclipse Talk | Boise State University

Go back to college for a bit on Sunday. The man who warned us about huge numbers of people flocking to Weiser, Cascade, Rexburg and more back in February will be giving an eclipse talk on campus.  BSU Professor Brian Jackson gained some notoriety this winter when he backed a crowd funding campaign to send Boise State reps to libraries, astronomy clubs and more to make presentations about the eclipse and to buy 9,000 eclipse classes to pass out.  He still has some of those left and according to the Idaho Statesman, you'll get a pair if you attend his talk in the Student Union Building on Sunday.  It starts at 7 p.m.

Boise State Eclipse Viewing Party | Boise State University

Can't make it to Jackson's talk on Sunday night? If you're one of the first 2,000 people to show up on BSU's quad for the viewing party on Monday at 10 a.m., you'll be able to snag a pair.

Nampa Public Library | Nampa

I saw some friends grumbling that you had to attend their party to get a pair from this library (other libraries around the Treasure Valley handed them out weeks/days prior to eclipse) but if you're one of the offices that have the day off to enjoy this historic event..why not watch it in Nampa? They'll have 1,000 glasses available at the 215 12th Ave South branch and they're saving a spot for you to watch it from the nearby parking garage.

Western Idaho Fair | Garden City

KTVB's taking their family day at the fair to another galaxy.  Theming it "Total Eclipse of the Fair" the first 2,000 admissions sold to the Western Idaho Fair on Monday will receive one pair of eclipse glasses.  The gates open at 10 a.m. and you're invited to watch the eclipse from the Grand Stand.

Camel's Back Park | Boise

Thanks to a Facebook friend who tagged us in the comments, we found out that there will be another independent vendor selling glasses in the park at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Bogus Basin | Boise

Thinking about checking out Bogus Basin's "99.6% Eclipsed" Party and watching the eclipse from Deer Point? They'll have a limited stock of glasses available for $3 a piece.

Idaho Central Credit Union | Various Locations

Call your branch ahead of time, but as of noon on Friday, ICCU still had a few pairs left for members.  If you're like me and are due to make your car payment anyway...might not be a bad way to go!
