There’s Still Plenty Of Christmas Left In Boise
You may be thinking that because there’s less than two weeks until Christmas, you may have missed all of the Boise Holiday fun. Have no fear! There are still plenty of things to do this Christmas season in the Treasure Valley.
Winter Garden aGlow
This is the signature event of the Idaho Botanical Garden. 550,000 lights over 14 acres with lots of interactive displays to check out. Tickets are $12 at the door and runs daily from 6-9pm from now until January 4th. Tickets HERE.
Downtown Carriage Rides
Every Friday and Saturday from 4-8pm through December 21st, you can get a free ride in a horse drawn carriage while you sip on a hot chocolate, courtesy of Washington Trust Bank. Load up at the corner of 9th and Bannock. More info HERE.
Scentsy Commons
If you love lights, how about 724,000 of them! 450 decorated trees and a 67,000 light tunnel too. Check them out at Eagle Road and Pine Avenue. Details HERE.
Boise Classic Movies
Take in a Holiday classic at the historic Egyptian Theater downtown. They have A Christmas Story on December 12th and 13th, Home Alone on the 14th, It’s A Wonderful Life on the 17th, Love Actually on the 19th and two showings of Christmas Vacation on the 20th! Get tickets HERE.
Christmas On The Farm
You’ve probably been to the corn maze at the Lowe Family Farmstead, but they also celebrate Christmas in a big way! For $12, you get to hang with Santa and Mrs. Claus, take a sleigh ride and see real reindeer! They’re open on Fridays from 5-9pm and Saturdays from 2-9pm. Buy your tickets HERE.
Holiday Pops
If music is more of your thing, check out the Boise Phil and Master Chorale’s Holiday Pops. It happens December 14th at the Morrison Center. Info and tickets HERE.
Ballet Idaho’s The Nutcracker
It’s a Boise tradition with all new costumes and sets. Over 100 children perform with their professional company to put on a larger than life production at the Morrison Center. Shows take place the 19th-23rd. Tickets HERE.
“Mayhem Under the Mistletoe” Murder Mystery
If you want intrigue to go with your eggnog, check out the dinner show, Mayhem Under the Mistletoe at Playhouse Boise. They have shows happening on Tuesday and Wednesday nights through the 18th. Tickets, menu and more HERE.
A Christmas Carol
A comedic take on the traditional story is on stage nightly at the Stagecoach Theatre from the 12th through the 14th. All of the info is HERE.
Who-Ville Holiday Night
One of the coolest spots downtown is JUMP. But when JUMP is decorated like Who-Ville from The Grinch, it doesn’t get any cooler. There’s even food inspired by the Grinch! It’s a one-night event on December 12th from 6-8pm. Get more information and register HERE.
7 Cares Idaho Shares
Here’s a great way to give back this year. KTVB’s annual 5 ½ hour telethon to raise money and food donations for families in need across the Treasure Valley. You can drop off your contribution at Fred Meyer, Albertson's or Albertson's Stadium. Find out more HERE.
YMCA Christmas Run
Maybe running six miles gets you into the Holiday spirit. If that’s you, you can do the YMCA Christmas Run. Of course, there’s shorter runs and walks for those of us that aren’t physically or emotionally ready for the demands of six miles. Info and registration details HERE.
Xtreme Holiday Xtravaganza
Curtis Stigers hosts and performs at this fundraiser for the Interfaith Sanctuary Housing Project. Tickets range from $50 to $100 and the event happens on December 22nd and 23rd. You can get tickets HERE.
