This has happened more than a dozen times this year!

The first incident happened Friday; a man heading to San Diego had a Ruger SP 101 revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition. The second happened this morning; a man placed a bag containing a .357 Taurus revolver loaded with six rounds through the security x-ray.

In both cases, TSA contacted the Boise Police Department, and the men were cited.

This happens more often than you'd think. These are the 12th and 13th guns found at the Boise Airport so far this year. In 2015, there were a total of 14 guns found.

Penalties for trying to take a gun through the security checkpoint can range from $3,000 to $7,500.
