Two Young Women Killed in I-84 Wrong Way Wreck
Two beautiful lives gone far too soon. One was going the wrong way on the I-84 freeway and the consequences were deadly.
It happened at about 9 o'clock last night near Burley. 39-year-old Jennifer Thompson of Hagerman was behind the wheel of her Toyota Tacoma going eastbound in the westbound lanes when the head-on collision happened. 21-year-old Ryan Cordie was behind the wheel of the Chevy Silverado that collided with Jennifer's Tacoma. Cordie is from Minnesota.
The accident left Jennifer Thompson of Hagerman and Cordie's passenger, 21-year-old Monica Buchite of Baxter, Minnesota dead at the scene according to KTVB.
As for Ryan Cordie, she is listed in critical condition in the hospital, so she certainly needs lots of prayers to pull through.
44-year-old Kerri Cordie was also in the Silverado and was airlifted to Saint Alphonsus in Boise. She is currently listed in fair condition.
All four people were wearing seatbelts when this crash occurred, which is good, but unfortunately, it was not enough to save the lives of Jennifer and Monica.
We may never know why Jennifer was driving the wrong way on the freeway, although an investigation continues.
There is no doubt that many people are morning the young lives lost in this horrible crash this morning. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers and we are crossing our fingers that Kerrie and Ryan pull through.
