So, I have been feeling a little guilty lately because we here at WOW104.3 give a lot of love to our Broncos.  And rightfully so!  BSU is a fabulous University with a ton of talent and notoriety but what about our beloved Vandals and fans?!

University of Idaho has gotten lots of national attention for being highly rated in a wide range of programs and costs.  "US News and World Report" seems to be big Vandal fans too....rating the U of I tops in several categories.  Read the full report here to see the story about U of I and how the university excels in so many areas.

When I was in college, I took a minor hiatus from the university I attended in Seattle and went to U of I (for one year).  While I was there, I volunteered at a student run radio station called KUOI. Thanks to that experience, I was able to get a good idea of what broadcasting was about and it encouraged me to continue my journey as a student in the radio broadcasting industry.  It is a rare treat to have a student run station at a university, and if you, or anyone you know, would like to be involved, it is a volunteer program that I highly recommend.  I am extremely glad that there are (hopefully) no recordings of my first on air shifts as I would probably die of embarrassment...even thinking of how bad it was makes me blush!

Today I found a list of "22 Reasons I'll always choose being a Vandal over being a Bronco and I wanted to share a few with you.  Here are 5 that I thought really are some awesome things about being a University of Idaho Vandal for the short time I was there.

1.  They have 30 areas of study with amazingly talented teachers

2.  U of I is Idaho’s leading research university, receiving more than $100 million a year to fund innovative research and education

3.  Ranked 2nd in the Pacific Northwest among universities for having a well rounded overall experience

4.  Over 200 clubs and student organizations to help the student grow independently

5.  U of I knows how to play hard and...yes, work and study hard

NOTE :  WOW 104.3's sister station, 630 The Fan carries live sports broadcasts of both Vandal football and Vandal men's basketball.
