These destinations are in Idaho, so you won't have to hear, "are we there yet?" more than a few times. These are in no particular order. Each of these vacations are equally good.

Bruneau Dunes State Park
Bruneau Dunes is a great place to fish, bird watch, hike, or camp in the Spring. Best of all, it's only an hour from the Treasure Valley, so you could make it a day trip.
If you've never been to Hell's Canyon, you should know that its name is deceiving. It's the deepest gorge in North America, and in the Spring, its wildflowers bloom. If you enjoy wildlife, you can see everything from bald eagles to bighorn sheep and black bears. There's great camping, boating, fishing, and hiking. Since it's only two and a half hours from Boise, it makes for a comfortable vacation spot.
