7 Things You Might Hate & Really Love As A Newcomer To Boise
My wife and I moved here in September of last year, know that weekend it was 106°, it was that weekend. It's been less than a year, but we've been able to experience a lot, like the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic. We were able to float the Boise River and have been able to enjoy so many of the great restaurants in the Treasure Valley as well. Both of us are new to the Pacific Northwest weather, but coming from Midwest, where the weather is pretty straightforward, you know what you're getting. So when I look at the forecast in the Treasure Valley, I take it with a grain of salt. There have been days when it's hotter than expected, and you get more rain or snow than expected or vice versa.
Coming from the very flat state of Nebraska, having mountains and scenery is fantastic, and on a beautiful day, the snow-capped mountains look stunning as the sun rises. Unfortunately for us, when we moved here, it had been several years of a booming housing market with skyrocketing home prices, which made it difficult for us to purchase a home and even find a rental that would allow us to have our two puppies.
Being in Boise, there are so many places that you can drive to for a fun weekend trip. So we went to Washington for Christmas to see family, we've been able to drive through some beautiful scenery, and I can't wait to explore more of Idaho.
