An Idaho family finally has some closure after their 16-year-old son's body was found at Elk Creek Falls.

According to an article on KTVB that details the recovery efforts, Luis Diaz's body was discovered behind the falls just before they were going to call off the search for the night.

The Clearwater County Sheriff's Office said it was one of the most technically challenging search and rescue operations in many years.

The flow of the falls had to be almost stopped in order to find Diaz and the Forest Service had to issue a closure of the Elk Creek Falls trail system.

Luis Diaz was from Dreary, Idaho and fell into the falls on Sunday when he was hiking and lost his footing.

We're so grateful Luis has been found so that his family and friends can now fully process their grief and healing.
