EXCLUSIVE: Boise Music Festival Headliner Shares Personal Love For Idaho

Boise Music Festival is coming up fast on June 21st at Expo Idaho and features a stacked line-up consisting of Jonah Marais, Treach from Naughty By Nature, Neon Trees, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Luke Grimes, with headliners Flo Rida and Tyler Hubbard, who was one-half of the multiplatinum duo Florida Georgia Line.

Boise Music Festival Headliner Has A VERY Personal Connection To Idaho

I was fortunate enough to catch up with one of this year's headliners, Tyler Hubbard, by phone to talk about his upcoming performance at Boise Music Festival. I have to admit, I knew a little bit about Tyler from his time in Florida Georgia Line, some of his milestones mentioned in the media, but I never knew how Idaho Tyler is.

I did a little bit of extra research and prep for Tyler before catching up with him because... it's Tyler freakin' Hubbard! I remember the headline of Tyler getting married to his wife, Hayley, and when preparing to talk to Tyler, I learned that they actually got married in Sun Valley.

Naturally, I had to learn more, so I immediately opened our interview by bringing that up to Tyler.

"What a lot of people don't realize is that you have a strong connection to Sun Valley, Idaho because that's where you tied the knot with your wife, Hailey!" I said.

"I did, I did, yeah my wife is from Sun Valley, and it's honestly one of my favorite places on Earth," Tyler replied. "And so, anytime I can get to Idaho, I'm there and I love it there. So I'm pumped to get back."

Idaho Inspires Tyler Hubbard's Songwriting

I had to ask him how Idaho impacts his songwriting, and Tyler gushed over the Gem State, echoing what many of us love about Idaho.

"It's super inspiring in Sun Valley, in Ketchum, and in Idaho in general," Tyler said, "Just the nature, the beauty, the mountains, the lakes, the rivers, it kinda feeds my soul."

"So, to get out there and be able to bring a few of my songwriting buddies out there and hang out for a few days with the intention to write songs, you know, there's always something good that comes from that. It just feels like it's hard not to be creative in a place like that."

We went on to talk more about his other hobbies, including boxing and his BIG confession. Of course, he also shared what people can expect from a Tyler Hubbard show for people seeing him for the first time at Boise Music Festival.
