Cowboys Owner Says They’re Better After Boise State Legend’s Exit
The football season is back and people are ready to start talking smack - even some of the team owners.
Dallas Cowboys Owner, Jerry Jones Takes A Dig At Boise State Legend
The Dallas Cowboys are known for several things including being "America's Team", their epic 90s run, and whether fans love it or not - Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones.
Fans have differing views on Jones since he's been unable to piece together a Superbowl-winning team since 1996. Despite that, the Cowboys continue to be the talk of the league with fans saying "This is their year" every year and haters laughing at fans saying... "this is their year."
Recently, one of the biggest critics of the Dallas Cowboys, Stephen A. Smith sat down with the billionaire owner of the Dallas Cowboys for an interview that was posted to YouTube.
While discussing the Dallas Cowboys star quarterback, Dak Prescott, Jones was asked by Smith if Prescott was better under the guidance of current head coach Mike McCarthy or Kellen Moore, who served as the Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022.
"So you think he [Dallas QB, Dak Prescott] was better last year with Mike McCarthy as both the head coach and the play-caller than he was when Kellen Moore was here as the offensive coordinator? Is that fair?" Smith asks.
"Well, without diminishing or demeaning Kellen, uh, he [Prescott] was definitely better last year... definitely," Jones replied.
"And by the way, room to get better, room to grow. I think that's a fact."
According to ESPN stats, when Moore took over as offensive coordinator in 2019, Prescott had one of his best seasons, throwing for 4,902 total yards, 30 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 99.7. At the time, it was the first time Prescott had eclipsed 4,000 yards in his career, which was a feat he would achieve again in 2021 under Moore.
In Moore's last season with the Cowboys, Dak Prescott played in just twelve games but only managed to pass for 2,860 total yards and throw 23 touchdowns for the season.
In the Dallas Cowboys' first season without Moore on the headset, Prescott played in seventeen games, threw for 4,516 total yards, 36 touchdowns, and had a passer rating of 105.9.
Moore, a Boise State alumni, is now in his first season as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Is Jerry Jones right about Kellen Moore? What do you think? Let us know your thoughts here.
