An explosion at the University of Idaho has left at least 4 students injured.

It was a science experiment gone wrong. The students were working on an experimental rockets in a University of Idaho parking lot when the rocket fuel they were testing exploded.

The extent of the students injuries are unknown but according to USA Today the students were alert and talking after the explosion. The explosion happened next to the campus steam plant, but it's unclear if that played any role in the explosion.

Parents of the students affected have been contacted.

The University of Idaho wants to make it clear that although the FBI followed protocol and showed up to the scene, this was not a bomb threat or a terrorist act in any way.
