People In Idaho Are Getting Tricked With Fake Court Dates
Some people have no shame, do they? Whether it's a malicious scam or robbing us right under our noses, shame on those who are stealing from others.
That being said, there's a special place in Hell for people posing as law enforcement and instilling fear into innocent people for personal gain.
Warning From Idaho Law Enforcement
In a recent post from Canyon County Sheriff's Office, it was revealed that scammers are calling innocent people saying they missed a court hearing for a "COVID-era small business loan."
Ridiculous, right? Pfft. COVID.
Oh, sorry - the court hearing is ridiculous too.
"We've received multiple reports of scammers impersonating the Canyon County Sheriff's Office using real employee names and spoofed phone numbers," the post from the Canyon County Sheriff's Office said.
"Neither CCSO nor any other law enforcement agency in Idaho would call anyone and ask for a payment over the phone for a missed court date. If you receive a call like this, please just hang up."

Judging from the wording, it sounds like CCSO has HAD UP TO HERE with these scammers.
And we don't blame them for one second.
Imagine going to work, not knowing whether or not you're going to have to chase down a dangerous criminal on the run - you know, fight for your life. And maybe you do - you run through people's yards, slide over someone's car, tackle the perp down...
Then, as you're cuffing the guy... you catch word someone is posing as you to score some money off of "COVID-era small business loans"... Imagine how ticked you'd be!
Officials say if you get this phone call, yes, hang up - but don't forget to report the scam to the Idaho Department of Finance or at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
