We love our potatoes here in Idaho. Baked potatoes, hash browns, mashed potatoes, potato casserole, potato fritters, potato fries, loaded potatoes, and that is just scratching the potato surface. It is literally one of the most, if not the most dynamic foods around. So why mess with a good thing?

Well if you are a young TikTok influencer, messing with stuff is kinda the gig. This 'hack' was by TikTokker Eli, who posts food hacks constantly. This one is nasty though. Imagine boiling water and then 'cooking' potato chips. ew. My cousin posted this video on her facebook feed with the caption, "What.the.hell. No. Cook your potatoes like a grown up please." I feel the same way about it...

Making mashed potatoes out of potato chips? So many things wrong with this but for starters this is mostly likely more money than using actual potatoes since they are one of the cheapest foods and widely available. Even though Eli claims they are "Delicious!" the majority of people seem to be super grossed out. Not to mention with the convince and long shelf life of instant potatoes, there's no reason to use chips.

Some of the TikTok comments are pretty funny:

Alexis: "This is why doctors get paid as much as they do."

Morgan: "I can't wait for Gordon Ramsay to find this."

Andrea: "This is why I worry so much about Gen X"

Does this gross you out as much as me? I am all about experimenting in teh kitchen but I wont even try this. nope. Let me know your thoughts and/or your favorite way to fix potatoes?
